has anyone ever had any problems fitting one of these? note it is only the same style as this, not from the same manufacturer and no offence intended to the seller

mine seems to be too small height wise on the drivers side, i have trimmed for the air vents on top dash rail, but it is a very poor fit.
anyone have any fitting suggestions?
thanks

The one in the picture is made by a member on here "the stig", his stuff is pretty good. There are however some awful copies versions of that style of dash on the market.
Post up some pictures and lets have a look.

i will grab some pictures in the morning but from what i can see they are either the same of a 2nd pull, even at a 2nd pull it should still produce the same product near enough.
they all look to have the same problem with the drivers side top being flat and not curved meaning so much force is needed to push it into shape and sit in line tucked under the window rubber i wouldnt hold out much hope of it staying in place without serious mounting.
if anyone can give any ideas id be greatful, before i route a grove into the leading edge along the front by the clocks and fit it in place and re set it with resin.
thanks.

oh you'll need to bolt it in regardless.
They are all tight. They have to be otherwise you'll be getting rattles everywhere. And it's never gonna be a weekend to fit it properly.
I bought a "cheapo" one, and it must have taken me best part of a month to get it even close!
There's no easy way to get it looking good without a lot of fitting, trimming and then retrimming and retrying.

jsut to add to my above post, what are the best methods to mount these dash's?
i was thinking about bonnet pins and velcro along the top dash rail, so i can easily remove it should i need to get behind it.

yes dash rails are out, stupid question! you will struggle to mount it with velcro etc. mine is a copy, so it is going to be a case of route into the leading edge drivers side to make it flexible, fit it in place with m6 threaded bar plates and nuts then re set the front edge with resin. it really is a joke people can much such poor fitting parts, when me myself can make fiberglass door skins that fit better than replacment panels! the mini world has got pethetic.
