Are HID kits any good ?? ive heard mixed opinions from other classic car owners (stags) ( landrovers):thumbsup: does any boddy have them fitted :??????????

i have them fitted and they are one of the best things on the mini lol you can see for miles lol

They're good, but not legal. Theres no way you can make them legal either really because you'd need lenses that were E marked for HID use, headlight washers and a self leveling system in place.

The only proper way of doing it is to transplant whole xenon unit and lights from another car. Somebody in the US did this on another forum and it worked really well, but was a huge amount of work.

I've considered them myself, but decided they're not really worth the risk of getting done by the police - Traffic police in Manchester are brutal as it is.

You can get more than enough light from some decent halogen headlamps and some good quality bulbs.

i put them in the e30, havent had a chance to test them though, stil stuck in the snow. :thumbsup:

This year maybe, but they are looking to be an MOT failure from 2012

Too many bad HID conversions out there. Great for the driver, as he can see for miles, but terrible for those coming in the opposite direction that get blinded by the bloody things. I recently had to come to a complete stop in the road as I couldn't see a damn thing when one of these fools in a 4x4 with a ******* conversion approached me.
