I know some insurers offer under 25's insurance that allows them to drive any car provided they have permission from the owner + the car is insured elsewhere.

I spend 1/3 of the year as a temp driver on my girlfriend's astra (for lugging big stuff around).... thinking it will be cheaper with a multi policy...

Im 22, 4yrs no claims...

Do any of these guys? + When its insured, I will need to declare the new engine I've put in 998 auto -> 1275 manual :) (its off the road at the mo...)

i tried to find the same thing a month ago
i was told when i was 18 that i had to be 21 so i patiently waited til i was 21 + 3yrs ncb and rang directline.... who turned round and said i had to be 25 :)

i tried loads of insurance companies but no luck!
they can do it, but most companies wont until your 25 as its 'too much of a risk' because of being classed as a young driver.

but id love to know if you manage to find a company that will

I'm 19 and recently phoned Footman and James to see how much it would cost to add a 1275 Austin Metro onto my existing insurance policy for my Cooper Mini. I got told if the Metro was a 998 and also a classic they would cover both cars for an additional £50... Worth trying some of the specialist companies.

What law is it, as far as I was aware it's solely down to the insurance companies own policy.
