with taking safety and harness operation into consideration, no not really. With them going right over your shoulders they cant go any where else but backwards. to the base of the rear seat base is wheres used most often

is it possible? yes...is it safe? not particualy...if you were to have a crash the angle at which you pull the harnesses from their mounting points wouldnt be an effective and safe possision, could cause more damage to your back etc that way depending on the incident

the bolts which go through to the captivated nuts could be replaces with eyelets, you then bolt the normal 3 point safety belt in as normal (while replaving the bolt with an eyelet) Then you would have to use a harness which allows for use with eyelets, such as link

then when you dont use the harnesses unclip them from the eyelets and use the normal safety belt.

You should consider what seats your using though, if you decide to use a normal seatbelt it may not sit across your lap correctly if your using high sided bucket seats.

compaired to normal seats they do have fairly high sides :xmas: so i cant say for sure how it would sit on you, also differing depending on the drivers/ passengers size a skinny person would be sitting further back

Unfortunately you will only really be able to know once you have them fitted. The Key is when do the belt up is it just in contact with the high sides of the seats or does it actually sit properly in contact with your chest as a normal seatbelt does in a normal seat.

If the first is the case then you will need to think about different seats or use harnesses.

As mini93 has said if your fitting harnesses do not fit them to the floor behind the seat. The original mounting points in the back seats are considered the limit for how low down you can mount them as shown in this diagram.

NO! VERY dangerous to do this. In a heavy inpact this could cause the seat and you to break in half!

Ideally you want to mounts them to a harness bar or fit them onto the rear seat belt mounts.

The other option as mentioned above, if you really need to use the rear seats is to have harness's that hook onto an eye bolt fitting. You can leave the original belts in the front and then when you need to put people in the back unhook the harness from the eye bolt, then use the original belt.
