Im rebuilding my 1380, after finding the previous chap did on the cheap (1380 block, standard cam, standard timing system, no center main strap, and a single spring original head).

unfortunaly its not been offset bore'd either so the wall between 2 and 3 is about 2.5mm, we shall see how long it lasts with the increased power :) anyway, what head gasket will i need (ive no idea on the cr, its a minisport worked head, and the block has been re-faced at some point.)

I used a Payen BK450 on my 1380. Search minispares.com for it

I doubt ANY gasket will hold with that tiny space between bores...... The previous owner hadn't done it 'cheap' - he just wanted a smooth torquey engine without using high revs..........

im not intending to rev the nuts off this engine, ive gone for a simple sw5 cam, nothing to lairy but enogth there for a bit of fun. even for a simple torque engine i thought a center main was highly reccomended due to the extra load on the crank.

i shall try that one from mini-spares then, if it blows then may have to do things a little different, it ran with the last head gasket for well over a year after although i admit i shall be putting a bit more power through it once its built.

whats the difference between competition gaskets and standard? less likely to blow through or just for heat transfer purposes?

Don't bother with the centre strap - or double springs in the head if you aren't looking for high revs.

oh right, well never mind, its done/brought now, i ot the impresion from other peoples builds they were a good idea to do.

i kinda copying the spec from the "ultimate mini" but not going over the top

ive gota decide what to do with the clutch yet, turbo clutch be ok? its not gona be pushing out more than 100ft/lb so i would think thats way within the tubros limit.
