My recently fitted Japanese export genuine Minilite Mk 11 6x10 alloys with deep dish ET-15 offset, with Japanese imported Dunlop R7 Road/Race 165/70x10 tyres with the classic 1960's Dunlop CR65 tread pattern. (now both available here in UK) :P

Interesting variety of Mini's for sale over in Japan (Click on each car photos in Link for more views). Many of the older Mini's still have their UK plates fitted while many of the newer ones have some interesting and unique mods plus standard factory fitted air con, which does not leave much space under the bonnet!

Many late rust free Classic Mini's are also now being re-exported back to the UK (Japan is also RH drive) and are on sale in specialist dealers here.
I don't think Rover ever officially imported MPI's to Japan due to different emission and drive by noise laws, so continued with the SPI + side radiator + A/C. Also the air conditioning compressor and pipe work, etc, (below the much larger Japan spec alternator) left very little space for the MPI's front mounted radiator/fan assembly.
The left hand inner wing has another electric fan and the air con condenser radiator fitted. The air con evaporator is located under the passenger side parcel shelf in a much larger combined heater box assembly.

Very nice pics here of a Retroed Japanese Mini..........note the conversion includes sliding windows and external door hinges!!

I see so many of the jap mini's have the mirrors on the fenders is that how they came? or a trend in japan? i know they came on older skylines and datsun's back in the day.
