now I know I'm an old sod! passed my driving test in 1977 when minis were normal everyday type cars, so thatmakes me ancient, I know, I Know!!!!

after several years messing with classic cars (MGBs mainly although there were others too) I've come back to minis to sort of relive my first car experience. I can't belive the ridiculous insurance prices some of the so called competitive companies want to charge.

My last MGB was a V8 Roadster values at £8500; insurance £108 (3K miles, garaged, comp)
My Porsche Boxster has no restrictions; insurance £228 (comp)
My daily hack, SMAX again no restrictions Class 1; insurance £248 (very comp!)

for my mini Mpi Sportpack....

performance direct want over £500 (3k miles, garaged)
footman James want £227
Adrian Flux £245

all on classic policy, am I missing something here???

Lancaster have so far quoted me £132 but I think this is still too expensive so I'm going to check out my MG company RH Insurance in the new year and see what they're offering. (no open now only the claims line)

GRRRRrrrrr

if you sign up to tmf+, you get 15% off with some companies like footman james but those quotes are a bit much, my mates dad pays £83 for a year fully comp on classic insurance but i dont know what company he is with

I'm 28 and pay £135 fully comp with 3 points, found that using compare the market, and its through a broker, insure so no idea who I'm really with,

although my older brothers focus estate has just come up for renewal, he cant find any for less than £500, last year he was paying around £300 and nothings changed, so i dint know if all insurance companies have hiked up their prices

FJ's wanted £117 for Paddy the clubbie totally standard and a £3k valuation, that's with a 1500 mile limit and garaged. Still thought that was a bit rich. I'm 47.
