Bought myself a mk2 escort to run around in while i work on my mini.
It's a 1.6 xflow and i added a bestek electronic ignition kit for reliability aswell as replacing the battery. have been using it daily since the beginning of september with no hicups. Engine runs great and pulls really nicely. The car has been lowered 2" all round and has 13x7" alleycat wheels. Has also been converted to round headlights with new grill (have square grill aswell) I do have the original ghia wheels and suspension parts to put back to standard.
It's a really great car and very retro, bodywork is not the best you'll find but went through the last MOT no problems. IIRC it's MOT till august 2011 and tax till march.
Would love to keep it but don't have the space or money to have three cars and due to my budget tightening need something a bit cheaper to run and insure.
Would consider any solid car with mot and tax as a swap as long as it is pre 80's (may consider post 80's mini) Preferably pre 70's and is fairly economical and cheap to insure.
I'm sure most of you know how sought after these cars are getting and with some work will only go up in value.
Here's some pictures.

what sort of cash price would you be after, as all i have to swap would be projects (genuine 1275gt, well specced mini and a 1971 mk3 cortina)

Was hoping for a straight swap as i need the car to travel to work at the moment. would ideally be looking for around £2000 cash but would be open to offers. I have to admit the pictures do it a bit more justice than it's due the paint is pretty tatty and there is an amount of rust about it. But it's a great useable car at the moment and would have thought it would pass MOT next/this year no problems as long as everything is kept on top of.

The '72 sounds nice have a think mate. Not set in stone myself about swapping as i really love the car but on the other hand would really like a nice cheap classic to pootle too and from work in and not be so tempted to spend money on that i should be spent on my mini. If anyone knows anyone who's got anything a bit different and might want to swap feel free to put them in touch, my email is [email protected].

Hi Nick, If your clubby estate was finished i would've taken your arm off. Just don't have the space or money for another project.
Thanks for the compliment mate they're awesome cars as i'm sure you'll find out one day. :D

William what mini have you got? you're a bit far from me aren't you?

I've found a car i want but no joy on a swap, so if anyone want's to buy the car cash i'd be looking for £1700 for a quick sale but make me an offer.
Have all the original parts and some spares that would go with the car too.
As this is no longer a swap i may be in the wrong section so if mods need it moved then please do.
Thought i'd give you gys first refusal as there has been interest. Will be going on ebay this evening.
Cheers
Tim
