hey im 16 and starting my first project mini.Heres how things are going so far,i have a 1978 mini 1000 manual donated from a deceased family member, and for my 15th birthday i got bought a 1992 Mini Mayfair auto. So the plan is to strip down the body of the mayfair, repair the rust parts and replace the subframe.Rebulid the manual engine from the 78 and put that into the mayfairs body. Then sportspak arches or group 5 euro (havent decided) and 7x13 starmags. Interior will be pretty basic but with center consol, new wheel etc and metro seats with cd changer and sun woofer in the boot. Then 2 angel eye headlamps and 4 spotlamps with chrome grill, bumpers etc all finnished off with a porsche colbolt blau respray. All this with 5months left,so got to get to it. So far stripped it down. what ya all think?

To be honest I be tempted to use the 79 Shell rather than the tinworm attracting 92.. but would be a shame to spoil the 79 with sportpacks..

i Would of loved to of used the 78 shell, but it has more holes then a sive. Its been sitting in my dads body shop for the last 5years and spent bout 8years sitting on the drive not moving.Had me dad take a look and he says needs a whole new shell which are bout £3k and as a 16yr old student,£3k is bit outa my league. Problem is my dad wants space in his workshop and wants me to scrap the 1978 or break it,but i mean its been in my family since it was new in 1978 and its done 30kmiles.Would break my heart to see it scrapped or braked.anyone want to buy it off me?
