It says 'India' on the bus tyres - but they don't go there........ Buy a copy of Vizard (always plenty on ebay) and read from cover to cover.

I have a relatively fit 1000 and down hill it will manage about 95.Even with a stage 1 i would not expect more than a 100.If your after top speed then you need an engine that revs as mins are short geared.

most people I know with a 998 said they've had it off the clock (past 90) but as above, top speed will be affected by a lot of factors

Theoretical top speed going buy guesswork’s calculator with 12” wheels and 3.9 diff at 6k is about 103mph.
My own 25, 998 with a 2.9 diff might just get off the Speedo at 120mph at 6k.

The stage one kit won’t really make much difference to top speed, just slightly reduce the time it take to get there.

I'd say 100+ mate
My 998 with mods, but not quite as beefy as a stage one, will hit the top of the clock and keep on climbing easy
so you should have no probs there

Are you sure your speedo isn't in KMH?

my self and brother would be driving in lane 3 on the motorway for most of the trip - rivi run / reading to newquay and both in 998 cc , on the flat yes they will go past 90 , mine was running 3.4 diff on std 12" steels , brothers mini 30 - 3.1 diff on std 30 alloy's , both with stg 1 kits . and even with the high end speeds on the run his clocked in at 50 mpg , only thing found with the two seemed to be the diff ratio , the taller diff (3.1) would drop back compared to the 3.4 on any hill .

My satnav dies at anything past 75ish, cursing at 70 for me is only 3.5k in 4th

I’m never going to try and get it off the clock, I’d have to be doing more than 120 for a start :D
