I have up for swaps an f18 gearbox (needs seals)/ f17 c374 gear cluster and differential or possibly an f17 gearbox with 3.55 final drive and no speedo take off (depending what is offered).

please look at this link to see what I am after

If you dont get any offers for anything your after, let me know, ill buy the F17 off you assumeing it is in good condition, wide gear set, 355 ratio and hydraulic clutch.

As far as i am aware, there is not F17 355 with a mechanical take off, you would need to be looking for an F15 or even an F13.

I am right in thinking that the f17/15/13/10 all share the same casing? If that is the case then would it be possible to transfer the differential from an f15/13/10 over to the f17 and take the speedo drive with it?

Im pretty sure they dont share the same casing, but i have heard of diff ratios being swapped between them.

Not sure about taking the speedo drive with it though, never bothered to look into it.

You wanting to use the original dials with your conversion?

That's the idea. The only reason I was thinking that the casings are the same is that the replacement seals are the same for all of them. If it is possible to swap the diffs over the all I need to do is drill out the hole where the cable take off would go and bolt in the plastic gear (as well as swap the diff over).

like i said, i have heard of people chaging the gear sets between the boxes. Im not sure if they are identical, but they do look pretty much the same.

Out of interest, how much would you want for your F17 W 355 with no take off?

£60 but I don't really want to sell it as it has the correct final drive that I am after. If I do sell it then I am back to square one with no working gearbox.

12" as I already have them. I think when I got mine there was a second one in the same scrap yard. Try furbers breakers yard in childs ercall near market Drayton. They offer shipping too. Not everything they sell is on their site and they don't update it that regularly so try ringing them.

here is a link to their site:

If you go there try talking to the short guy who is always in blue overalls. He is far more helpful and seems to be more knowledgeable about cars than the others.

Also make sure you take your own tools incase you need to remove one from a car. They do not lend them and sometimes charge for removing parts for you.

Weirdly, just found this: http://www.furbersmo...products_id=239

Probably not hydraulic clutch, but should have the 355 diff in it and have a speedo drive

according to the table i have its from an Astra G, F17 W355.
