Mini Cooper 1.3i
94
So my left bulb has completely gone out and my right one is not so bright so I bought two new bulbs consulted my manual and thought simple enough 3 screws and a bulb.
My car is immaculate when it comes to rust so to my suprise I get the chrome ring off after undoing the one screw fine but the two screws holding the lamp cover on are sheered with rust?? I physically cant get them to move.
Is there any other way to get in there? The only way in my mind that seems feaseable is to break the screws and replace but I need the car right now and dont have screws
*sigh* ( I am not the best at these things I am learning please be patient with me!)

Any help much apreciated!

The most important thing is to make sure you have the right sized philips screwdriver, they are only small grub screws so with the right tools and a little penetrating oil ( or a tin of Loctite Freeze & Release - good stuff http://www.loctitefr...nstructions.htm ) they will come out...

Sounds good, might go get a tin of the freeze and release tonight but once I break the screws does anyone know what size screws I need to replace them with? Otherwise I wont be able to put my headlamp back together?

if you get really really stuck just drill them out then use self tappers to hold your headlight in.. then you could put stainless steel in there

Try THESE, they're stainless so wont rust.
