Hi, I'm in the middle of restoring a mini and i want to go down the bike engine route but want to keep it front engined and front wheel drive. I'm aware of the kits available but don't have that kinda money.
Just wondering who has done a home built FWD bike engined mini. how did you get drive tot he wheels?
thanks Craig.

Not mine but one possibility.

Needs some specialist parts making and obviously some way to mount it but then so would the engine.

The only problem which I can see with having a chain driven front axle is having redulous amounts of understeer if not set up correctly as both of the front wheels will spin at the same rate

They wont spin at the same speed as there will still be a diff there.

Why would it have loads of understeer? And why would the front wheels spin at the same time?
Cheers

My mistake I had thought that t would have a solid axle like a go kart but on the front axle not the rear
