Hey I am in the US and I am trying to figure out how much of this sound dampening stuff I need to cover basically the entire interior of the car. Any ideas on the square footage to cover the interior?

Many will scorn me for saying this, but unless you're into hi end ICE installations.... forget things like eDead, dynamat etc etc it's just too expensive...

My recommendation is, what we call here in the UK, flashing tape, very similar ( if not the same ) to foil backed butyl solutions...

* Word of warning.... don't google flashing tape !

Three of these is enough to do a whole car with two layers on the floor and bulkhead...

Look in local hardware/builders merchants

Hmm my mini has some of that 'flashing tape' installed by a previous owner and in places where its not securely stuck down its just trapped water underneath and so created surface rust, I'm just getting some of the normal car insulation stuff in a pre-cut kit as this will soak up any water and then i can regularly take it all out easily and let it dry out before putting back in.

To answer the OP's question about amount of sound proofing i'd say at a rough guess the floor is 2m x 1.5m and then you would need some for the bulkhead and anything else you would want to insulate/soundproof. So i'd say 2x2m should do you for floor and bulkhead.
