Please check that a relay has been used and the circuit is fused correctly
Plenty of threads & diagrams about wiring spotlamps if you have a quick search

Just for your own peace of mind if you are using existig wiring.

Good advice for 3rd party wiring, however this chap sounds as though he has original rover wiring, which will have all the fuses & relays already there. Just make the connections at the grille end.

Heater valve has ceased in the closed position. On your 2000 MPi, the valve will be under the dash rail, to the left side of the heater. You need to get your head into the footwell to see it...i have a new problem now shock from a mini! but my heating will not heat up at all it pumps air out but will not pump hot air out any ideas why this is happening mini madmen?!?!? all the best redminifish
If you are lucky, you can just work the arm back and forth without disconnecting it, otherwise you need to remove, work manually or replace (expensive for an MPi...)

if you are, check that the pipes going into the car are getting hot. if they aren't there's something wrong.

Good point minispaniard. Are you pulling out the heater cable? (I think it's pulling on the later ones...)
Redminifish - do you know which knob to pull? (snigger)... pull out for heat:

thankyou for your graphic picture i was puzzled with what that nob was i just thought it was for the misses lol! the switch at the back connected to the cable does not feel like its doing much moving and the pipes going from the engine are hot but that could just be the heat from engine heating them?!? also my dashboard clip which holds the top in above the lights is broken so dash is slagging a bit is there a straight replacement available or any other suggestions to get around this matter? thanks agen redminifish
