)Some people may have read a few of my threads deciding on what i am going to do with my interior. I finally made a decision!
It is going from a grey to black!
Although i have nothing against grey the main problem was it was looking pretty drab. So i decided i wanted to have a change. I'll skip the hundreds of ideas i had. First things first i ditched my horrid dash that came with it. then ordered a new dash from custom consoles all black
That came the other day and looks awesome! I then had to decide what to do with the dash rails!My choices were either recover/replace them OR my dad made the great suggestion of vinyl paint! £9.99 for a tin vinyl paint it is!
What a success! Removed the top dash rail this weekend sprayed it took like a minute to do the whole thing. one coat job done! Looks fantastic! ill get a photo up in the next couple of days.
Then had to do the bottom one. I couldnt work out how to get the bottom one off so masked up in the car and went for it. Success-ish! the -ish is nothing to do with how i painted in the car, but down to the fact i didnt clean it well enough. that is the one tip i can give to anyone tryring vinyl paint/dye. CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN! Anyway really does not look that bad at all just not as good as the top one, which came put so well. still loves fantastic!
Later that fine sunday my dad spotted a nice black set of standard seats on ebay going for £50!!! bargain if you ask me! I would have snapped it up, but running short of cash and decided ill leave the seats till last find another cheap deal later on. That evening dad comes into my room and goes 'I just bought you a present!' HE GOT ME THE SEATS! WOOP! WOOP! Collecting this saturday. As he was so kind to do that i thought it makes sense to replace the carpets when we will have the seats out so bought some black carpet tonight.
this coming weekends plan: fit everything again. add new items. remove parcel shelf and spray with same vinyl paint and also buy another tin and do the door cards. fit stereo, speaker pods and speakers. All that is left then is a new steering wheel that really is going to have to be next month hahaha. also get a few bits of chrome here and there, door handles etc.
So there is a little insight to my mini life at the moment hahaha! Sorry that turned into a bit of an essay!
