Hs4 Carb Spacer

Hi all, i am putting a HS4 single carb in my friends 998 tomorrow
only he told me he does nt have the alloy spacer for between the
manifold and carb

so does he really need it or can you do without??

The carb spacers are important, the isolate the carb from the engine thermally and in terms of vibration. I've always doubted the usefulness of the alloy spacer but the plastic and fibre ones do an important job.

You might have clearance issues with the attachment plate and the manifold if running without, also find you need shorter studs as well.

I’m 99% sure I’ve gone a spare in the garage if you interested.
