Ok, I'm planning on fitting front fogs to my mini and so I have brought all the kit. What I want to know is how do I remove the metal facia plate that holds the rocker switches as I need to replace my 4 hole one with a 5 hole one. I tried the haynes manual but it had nothing an I tride just pulling it out but again nothing.

Any ideas guys and gals?

you need to stick you head in the foot well with your feet on the back seat

look up around the choke/heater cables and undo the lock nut around the cable

the switch panel should then pull off

you will have to disconnect the battery as it's easy to short out the wires in the surround

If you want more access unscrew the 2 front fixing screws for the heater assembly (under the switch panel) and let it drop down a couple of inches.

Thanks I'll give it ago, its at Larry powis's body shop at the mo so no need to worry about shorting as half the stuff is disconected anyways and the battery is out. As its an mpi am I to assume there will only be a lock nut on the heater cable? Or will the choke blanking plug have a locknut aswell?
