Hi all ..

I think my my Mini boot is leaking on the right hand side ..

Although it could be condensation .. Never-the-less, it's annoying ..

So, does anyone have any ideas how to fix this? .. The local garage said it was common for Mini boots to leak, and they didn't have any suggestions ..

So, i figured I'd ask you lot .. 'because i can't imagine you'd let something like this fly on your Minis .. :)

Cheers in advance!

it could be the window rubbers leaking :smartass:

take a hose pipe to the windows and see if you can find where its coming in

Boot seal.

If you've got a fog light fitted, and the gromit is not present, the water could be coming from outside.

Could be windows as suggested.

Could be condensation. Try getting some of those crystals from a DIY shop and leaving a pack in the boot or on the rear parcel shelf to dry up any unwanted moisture in the air.

I think I've narrowed it down to just being condensation ..

It rained last night, and when i looked in the boot this morning, there was just condensed water on the inside of the boot .. No water had leaked onto the carpet in the boot, plus the boot seal was bone dry ..

It also doesn't look like there is a gap between the seal and the body .. Just a bigger space on the top right than anywhere else ..

I'll go down to Halfords today i think and buy some Crystal packets ..

If i find it's still condensing, I'll put it down to the seal and, as suggested, turn it around ..

Thanks a lot for the advice .. Much appreciated ..

Went to the middle of nowhere in central ameracia earlier this year and needed silica gel to keep my kit dry - walked into JD sports and asked for any spare silica gel and walked out with armfuls of the stuff!

It's pretty inert stuff and can be dried out in an oven 100C ish for a couple of hours. Not sure how much halfrauds will charge but might be worth a try!

No, Minis aren't THAT old. The early one is clipped to the boot lid, the late type is push fit to the body (and is far better).

I wouldn't buy crystal packets, you need to sort out the root of the problem really. If the water is coming in from the outside, dessicant packs will just draw more water in.

Check there isn't any holes in the wheel arches, I know it sounds daft but they could flick water into the boot.
