Doh, yep I did mean mm :)

Also the cv joints in question were also a very tight fit in the new bearings, so maybe it wasn’t just the cv nut that was machined to the wrong size.

When you say a tight fit...... you are probably talking microns, everything has a tolerance, the bearings are made to a much higher tolerance level, typically 1 tenth of a micron on a bearing that size is about right.

The CV would be made slightly "less" tight on the tolerancing and would be about 2 to 5 microns, some will be very tight, some will be an easy slide fit and all the rest should be in between..... I am guessing that you had to press it in ?
