We've done a little bit more over the passed couple of days, Dad has repaired the bottom corner of the inner wings, on both sides Posted Image
Then we mounted the front panel, and it's a suprising good fit considering it's a non genuine, and about £90 cheaper than a genuine.

I've also got all of the paint and gubbings

I had a productive day today! Dad managed to get the front panel welded up fully, no pictures of that, as you can't really see much different to the previous photos. Also trimmed the rest of the rear valence off, and discovered the closing panels were rotten, so dad some bits of steel welded in, Posted Image

Posted Image
Whilst he was doing that, I decided to strip the head off my 998, to get the 12g940 on and fit the 266.

1275 head

Before I sent the block away, dad rang my olf ministox engine builder, George Polley, and he said that there was no point doing all this work to a 998, for not much power, and he had a 1275 block at his, which I could have, so that's where I've gone now. So I started striping the 1275 auto engine I have, for the rods and pistons. My good 998, which is pushed to the side for a little while, and finally my 998 with cracked block, I was taking the gearbox off. All I need now is a flywheel puller >_<

Done a little bit more work with him today, I made a repair panel up, and dad welded it on.
Posted Image
I also drilled out the back panel ready to weld on the valence
Posted Image
Posted Image
Dad said he managed to weld on the panel, however I don't have any photos, as he done it after I went to take my brothers car for it's mot retest

I've got and engine and brakes in! Only another 998 for a few months I get it back on the road, as it's getting to be show season, will get the 1293 done soon hopefully.

Little bit of a plug really
