Hi All
i have an electronic distributor out of a 1275 the distributor is a 65d can anyone please let me no if this will fit a 998 mini? i am also fitting a new manifold and Performance inlet manifold to my car so that i can have an rc40 fitted i also have a hif44 carb would this work on the 998 engine or am i better off keeping the std carb on the inlet manifold?

It will fit if the 998 is an A+ engine, but the advance curve will be wrong. Many people have done this, myself included, and the curve can be modified by a specialist such as MLM in Kent. It is noticeable if the modification hasn't been done.

I don't see that the advance curve will be all that different - especially if the engine is modified. Try the dizzy and see !

I have this distributor in my standard A+ 998 - fitted by a previous owner. Looking at the paperwork I have it appears that the curve has not been modified. It runs OK when the engine as at lower revs, but much better when the engine is at higher revs. Is this what you would expect if the curve is not modified?

i think i will just put it in the car and see what happens then. how do i tell if the 998 is a A+ engine? and will the hif44 carb work with this engine?
