I have seen on a couple of cars with a removable bonnet. The hinges are there and operate as per normal but a tube has been fitted to the bonnet, this allows it to slide over the hinge and open/close as normal but still be removable. Has anybody else seen this or know where they were purchased?
I did speak to one of the owners, but forgot where he said they came from.

there you go i have these best thing i ever done to the mini (and i done a lot) the bonnet is stable and hinges normaly no movement even on motorway speeds
