Hi all, i have taken out my heater matrix because of a leak in the car

i found a small pin hole in one of the tubes at the side, so i would like to try a repair but the thing is

what type of material is it ,
can it be brazed are is there a another way,

Thanks do you mean silver solder as in you feed in a rod with heat

Silver solder is a specific blend of solder, which has a hotter melting point then most types. Use normal solder, in some respects the cooler the melting point the better as you don't risk disturbing the existing solder joints as much.

Yes to the rod and heat method. Pinch up the core that is holed so that when you solder it up lots of the solder doesn't just flow into the heater matrix. You need to clean the area with wire wool as much as practical , make sure it's dry inside and out then use a flux (paste is better than liquid). A fine pencil type gas torch is best for this, heat the area and feed the solder in to plug the hole.

I repaired one of mine with chemical metal, only a few weeks later it just found somewhere else less assessable to pee from instead.
