My crank number is 12 A 1451

what engine are these ment to before ive stripped my 998 down and i dont think its a 998! think its a mix and match of parts the crank has been lightened and balenced and i think the cams different but can comfirm since theres no numbers

12 means its a 1275
A all seem to be an a+
I can't find any more that tallies up with all the engine numbers i have but they appear to be the 1275 that started in the early 90's cooper into the spi

the pistons and bores are 100% 998 i know that for a fact

the engine is painted red inside and out
the heads a late 1960's head! painted green
gear box is rod change

the con rods are early a seires
the blocks A Seires

water pump is 1275 high flow.

my engines a spare parts bin!

not sure what the 12A497 is, but suspect its a casting (part) number not an engine number.

The 12A1251 crank is an A series 998 crank, what makes you think it's been lightened and balanced, your probably mistaking the factory balancing as a post manufacture upgrade.

Yes it's definitely the later (but pre A+) 998 crank in EN16T material. It's a 998 or 1098 block - can be used for either.
