Please give your topic a title that quickly describes your problem. Just putting 'Help my Mini doesn't work' is useless to anyone trying to help.

Description of problem (please be as in depth as possible): How do I tell if I have an alternator or generator? Whichever it is, it has three wires going to a flat plastic "plug" that is held on by a wire retainer. The wires going into the plug are iffy at best and causing charging issues, I believe. I've tried to repair it twice, and works for a while. Is this plug and the metal connectors in it available anywhere? The red light on the speedometer is glowing just slightly (is this the charging indicator)? If I do have a generator, where is the voltage regulator located?
Thanks
