cap from an ezibleed system and taped up hole in top, now this cap has a rubber seal but, the new cap i got off ebay does not and the cap seems very brittle maybe i did it up to tight as well
but should it have a rubber seal in the cap? seems mad not to as thread is very course air is bound to get in after some time.
Also would a new slave come complete with the rod as well or would i need to transfer rod from old one as pics I have seen show slave with out rod in it?
Its a 1993 sprite 1275cc carb

In fact the caps are designed as a breather.

No seal - the cap is not airtight as it would airlock the master cylinder.
In fact the caps are designed as a breather.
I see certainly a lot different to modern ones i have used on motorbikes before.
Does this not mean the fluid will take on air and moisture sooner though to?
Also when i checked last time the top part of the cap came away showing the hole in cap, which is breather hole.

As you've discovered, the cap can actually be taken apart - far from air tight eh?!

It will absorb some water yes, part of the reason why clutch/brake fluid should be changed every 3 years or so. However the volume of fluid in the master (most of which never see's the inside of the pipes) will take a long time to abosrb enough moisture to make it a problem.

Yeah, should be fine then but mines seeping some where fluid going to replace slave first me thinks, just not sure if i need a new rod the bit that goes in and or if it comes with new one.
