Right. As my Mini is being deseamed and all the jazz my dad has been going on at me about roof chops.
No no no no I said. But I have been thinking about it and now Im thinking about doing it
In all honesty, I think when you have letterbox size windows it doesn't look good. But I do think that 2, maybe 3" does look good. But for 2-3" is it worth it?
Anyone got any first hand experience with doing a roof chop? I know how its done and I guess its a fair amount of work.
Also, will the screens and side windows in my early 80's Mini be laminated? Enabling me to have them cut down?
Cheers to anyone who can gives me some pointers.
Roof chop. Have I been converted?

I believe the roof panel has to be cut into at least 6 pieces to keep the shape.

I thought you could get away with 4... either way, 6 is ok. Theres gonna be enough welding and filling while deseaming anyway...
Or might go chop the roof off the Mini in the scrapyard and cut that with the extra length already in it, then cut both down the centreline of the car... making it 4 pieces...

You can use perspex, plexiglass or simular for the sides , minis never came with laminated glass other than the windscreen .
