Think its still £68.75 for six months, although I imagine that will be going up again soon..

Insurance group is very low, not certain but below 5 I think?

Road Fund Licence (road tax) for all classic minis (assuming they are under 1549cc) is either £125 for 12 months or £68.75 for 6 months

pmsl.
Actually, I paid for tax last year. I need to get the pick up changed over. It was registered march 73, but because it was MANUFACTURED in 72 I should still be able to get it. Fun and games... its never simple!

Cheers Guys, Group 1 sounds good, pre 1973 is tax free, it <you>used</you> to be a rolling 25yrs i.e 2011would be 1983 tax free. the classic car enthuist are up in arms about the change, :w00t:
The tax is still steep for a small engine, maybe because it's CO's !!

Cheers again

My dad did something similar with out TVR, woman at the post office said how much would you like, he replied, "I think I'll have 12 months for free", :P. Something like that anyway, ;)

@above

It was never a rolling 25 year system IIRC.

My dad was annoyed by it when they introduced it, as he had had a car that was 1 year out, and thought that the next year it would be tax free, but it wasn't.

ah, he must have been talking about after then then.

Suppose 97 is quite a while ago now that I think about it. And the car would have been 25 years old around about 99/00 I think.
