is it cheaper and easier to convert my 1275 to a 1293 turbo
or buy a metro turbo engine
bearing in mind i also want tuning done on the engine to maximise realiability and be able to run around 150bhp+ if possible
(my knowledge is very limited)
also can you recommend anyone that carries out this sort of work for you and give me some possible prices?
(midlands area preferable)

cheers

Depends if you dont mind your car off the road for a bit (assuming you dont have another engine to run in it if you take yours out to convert it to 1293 turbo)

One of the worst things you can do, it buy the MG turbo and slap it straight it. You SHOULD work on the basis that the engine and turbo WILL need a rebuild. Therefore the obvious solution is to mod your existing engine, as you already have it. That way you will have a freshly built 1293 turbo engine vs (what I assume you were proposing) a knackered MG turbo 1275

(unless you want to run the engine you have in the car in the meantime while you build the 1293 or MG turbo engine. Then you can start with anything really. I guess starting with a MG turbo engine would make sense in that case, as it would come with most of the parts!)
