Well you can only increase acceleration without fitting a different diff or increasing your engines RPM limit.
The usual stuff will help though:
Big bore exhaust, big carb, flowed head, cam change. Then you could perhaps look into reducing the losses from your powertrain.

Though if you have the money and really want better acceleration a higher final drive will help ! It'll be best to know what you have already in the engine though. You could fit a 3.4FD or upwards for most notable acceleration difference but you will notice the engine revving alot higher!

A full service and thorough maintenance program is the first place to start (there is no point trying to modify something that's not performing to it's optimum as standard in the first place) then also strip out any unnecessary weight from the car. If you want to spend some cash then fit a well developed stage 1 kit (high flow air filter, richer carb needle, flowed inlet & exhaust manifold, & performance exhaust system - avoid large bore systems & go for standard bore single exit for best performance gains on a standard engine). These sort of mods & work involve you getting a modest but noticeable performance increase, for a relatively small amount of work and outlay.

If you want to go any further, then the costs and the amount of work involved soon starts to escalate. The next stages are mods such as roller tip rockers, modified heads, uprated cams, lightened fly wheels, lightened & balanced cranks etc. All of which will are very unwise mods if your engine is either tired or high milage, like so many mini engines are these days. If you are considering these sorts of mods then you probably need to budget for an engine and gearbox rebuild as well, otherwise the mods will wreck your engine in no time! Also if you significantly improve the performance of any car, you will also need to invest time and money uprating the brakes, tyres and suspension etc in order to cope with the additional power. Otherwise the extra performance will be both dangerous and unusable.

take the spare wheel out and tool kit. kick the .Girlfriend. boyfriend. husband. wife. mum. dog. Delete as applicable.. removing weight is usually free and effective and saves money of fuel consumption!

Reduce the weight of the car, lighten the flywheel and fit a lower final drive. Those things alone will make a huge difference to acceleration.

Stripping it bare makes the car so uncomfortable. Admittedly its the cheapest method of decreasing acceleration time but its not like the carpet and seats actually weigh that much. Not compared to the likes of a modern car.

Easy one

Push the pedal harder

Other than that, I would recommend
