Hi there, i have recently bought cobra clubman bucket seats and sabelt quick release 4 point harnesses's (thanks Santa!!!). I have fitted them all very easily and they work fine, however i have been told that because my seat subframe does not have a locking catch like the original it will fail the MOT. They also told me that if i crashed the seat would just tip me up inot the windscreen. What do people think of that??? any help would be welcome. Thanks

MOT:

If the vehivles original seats locked into position, then the new ones should too. If not the seat will be failed as insecure. You can get the subframes that lock, it's just a case of buying the correct kit.

Safety wise:

IF you were to have to brake really, really hard or even have a little head-on crash. The seats may tilt forward as has been said, but the harnesses would prevent you from going through the screen (providing they are correctly fixed). Your body would be restraining the seat if you like.

the harness should help 2 keep the seat down, but on my subframes i welded a bit of angle on the the legs,so i could then bolt it to the floor.
