Hello, I've done a few searches for this & didn't have much luck. I've offered up my group 6 arches (from Huddersfield Spares) to the body & they don't seem to line up with the rear wheel arch very well. They seem far too big on the radius. If I line up the curve on the front lower seam it's miles over the rear & vice versa. I can bend them a bit but don't want to stress out the fibreglass. Is this the normal way of fitting? To make things awkward I have no wheels on to line up with. I would like to drill the arch wholes prior to respraying the shell. Any tips or help would be appreciated. Thanks.

i had a similar problem with mine, the fronts go on fine, but the rears seem to be too big, like more suited to 13" wheels, what i did was position them where i thought they looked best, drill the top central hole and put a screw in that hole, then bend them a little to get the right gap to cover my 10" wellers and mark the remaining holes with a marker, take off the arch, drill the holes! worked a treat, just dont bend them to much or they will crack.

Thanks for the tips. Good pics too. Glad I'm not getting it completely wrong. The wellers look good on the clubman.

I don't know why they are called 'Group 6' arches. 'Group 2' arches are the ones homologated for the car in Group 2 - Improved Series Production Touring Car under FIA vehicle regulations of the 1960's.
'Group 6' was for prototypes where no minimum production quantity was required and any arches could be fitted to a 'Group 6' car so long as they met Construction & Use Regulations in the country of registration. You could make a set of arches from bits of bent tin and they would be permissable on a Group 6 car so long as they were deemed safe.
Sounds like more sales BS to me, just like 'Stage this that and the other' for cylinder heads.

i have had exactly the same problem with my group 6 arches from huddersfield mini spares i am worried about bending them as they dont seem to have much give in them.. i am putting 13 x 7 on my car am i better waiting for the wheels to be on before i try and line them up.. before trying to fit these i tried fitting mini sports mpi arches but they were even worse couldnt get them any where near the lines of the car... so i gave up with those..
i have also changed the look i am going for so the group 6 where more suited for this look..
wiswh me look with the fittting by monday my mini will look wonkey or i will break an arch i can see it coming...

if anybody reading this thread has any group 6 arches they dont want send me a message as i need 2 front arches !!
my rears are fine but my fronts are nackered and are currently the only thing letting the car down (also I'm a bit of a penny pincher so really hate the thought of buying a full set and only needing the fronts)
thanks

My car has been tubbed and the arches made a bigger radius, this gave me the same issue when fitting the huddersfield arches. I just fastened and bent slowly, and they have been fine. In my case I had to trim at the rear to allow them to fit around the valence.
Cooperman, I think these are the same as group 2, just wider, so I guess they wanted a name that wasn't taken.
