I want to mount some 6.5" speakers in part of my rollcage here....

right where the triangle is...

Is it possible to drill straight through the rollcage bars and bolt the speakers onto it (in 2 places only) or would this cause horrible vibration etc?

lemme know what ya think!

Nope.

The speaker frame / basket really needs to be mounted flush to a dense surface.

Just do as has been said and cut a triangle of wood to fit onto the 3 poles which make the cage. Drill it straight onto the cage.

Then cut a circle in the middle and mount the speaker.
Will make life easier, and the speaker will sound better. :)

thanks binge, tryin to think of a way to do it that isnt gonna look messy though =( the whole assembly isnt perfectly straight which means the MDF would have to curve also to look right. how would it work if i lined the basket with rubber or something similar?
