i am trying to find out just how rare the colour of my mini is,
it is hawaiian blue on a 98 sportspack, i have only seen 2 or 3 at the shows and am starting to think it could be a limited colour, it is the original colour as well as i have checked the documents with it.
i have also seen a few other rare colours like volcano and a wierd purple but again not many of these.
if anyone has any infomation please let me no.

yes what i really need to know i how rare hawaiian blue is like the picture of my car in my avatar.
the reason being its giving me grief and i dont no whether to cut my losses or get it restored back to its former glory which of course would be worth considering if it were in fact a rare colour.

well l'd say you've maybe answered your own question, I've never seen any at all on the road or at the shows I've been to.

Its therefore possible it was only a colour run of around 100 cars or so.

I dont know if Richard Brotherton the Archivist at the Motor Heritage Centre would know anything, Even if they only cover mini's between 59-69 He's a clever guy and may know himself or know someone who could help you.

your's isn't a rare colour as such just wasn't that popular when it was available - you can get it made for you so when you respray the car you can keep the colour! all you need is the paint code from your Vin Plate! take it to your local paint supplier and bobs your uncle, fa**y's your aunt.........as much paint as you want to buy will be mixed! :cheese:

may i also add that I think it is a nice colour and IMHO i think you should keep it! makes the car a little bit special!
