Hi, I've got a Van I'd like to have the paint chemically removed back to metal via hot tank stripping or dipping.

Are there any companies local to the Reading area that does this?

Im fairly sure the only company in the UK to do it is SPL in Dudley. They are expensive (£850+VAT just to dip) and the waiting list is apparently really long.

Don't know about around Reading, but SPL are certainly not the only ones doing it in the UK.
I had mine done in Preston, Lancs for much less than SPL and with little waiting time.

hi GraemeC was that paint-strip? in Preston, found them on web they quoted £600-£650 + VAT and are happy to strip/de-rust let me take it away replace panels etc and then take it back to them to phosphate and finish off.

Pro strip in Nottingham quote £675 + VAT just for the strip job.

The main guy John is good to deal with, but if you are travelling then make sure the car is ready before you set off to collect it - they tend to 'over run' on their work a bit!!
