i dont think you would but is it worth running suckthrough when so many blow throughs have can easily get 100+BHP

yee iv seen a few examples of the blow throughs but after seeing the janspeed conversion i like the look of seeing the turbo on the left hand side of the engine bay, i just thought it would be a different setup to most peoples turbo and wondered if anybody knows the best way to connect the weber to the turbo?

As has been said suck through systems do not require the carb to be sealed.
You can run an un-sealed carb on a blow through setup though. Lotus did it running a pair of 40's (dell'ortos). The carbs sit in a sealed plenum chamber and the pressure from the turbo is applied to that - inside and outside of the carb see the same pressure so no issues with the carb blowing a fuel and air mixture out of the spindles and whatnot.

Why have you jumped to exhaust from carb? The exhaust would be just the same as the "normal" turbocharged Mini setups.

has any body made a sealed plenum chamber for dcoe's? iv searched the net and couldnt find anything.. or would it be best to make one? aslong as the weld is good enough it should it be okay?

i've been looking into this aswell. There used to be a plastic air filter available for the weber except it was sealed and had a pipe going into it at one side to allow an intake pipe.
Haven't seen one in a while but i know it's on the forum somewhere. Could be a good starting point.
If i can find it i will post it up for you.

No good - the entire carb has to be enclosed.
Obviously Lotus made such a plenum but it was for a pair of twin sidedraughts. Any box that will hold the pressure will do. On one face holes are cut to match the flange where the carb bolts to the intake manifold and the box just works like a gasket. The biggest problem is getting the various pipes and linkages into the box without having air leaks. For the pipes bulkhead fittings can be used with short lengths of pipe from the side of the box to the carb inside. The accelerator cable linkage will likely need to be connected to a rod running through the box in a sealed bearing. Obviously you also need a big intake flange on the box somewhere to connect the pressure pipe from the turbo.
