Just spent half of today sorting out my interior!

Not fully there yet but its getting there

First pic is of the new seats out of a Rover 220 gti i believe...

Second pic is of my tatty old city E door cards which i re-upholstered

and 3rd pic is of the door cards in the car!

What do you guys think??


Any suggestions?

yes i love the seats!

Wha'ts even better is that i picked them up for £40 for the two from one of the lads at the mini club

helped me fit it and all as well!

You need a better camera

I like the seats, do they still allow access to the rear? I've changed most of the interior in my mini; sprayed the door cards, dash rails and steering cowling, new seats and carpets, dashboard, door handles and steering wheels. Planning on getting new seatbelts, rear seat covers, finishing off the carpets and fitting the centre console. After that, the interior should be all black and blue except for the headlining, but I'll probably leave that.

There is a lot you can do, so whatever you don't like, you can change. For me, that was all the interior

yes they still alloy access to the rear! although the leg room is probably half of what it used to be :L but you can still get in the back so thats a bonus!

ooo some good ideas there! i really want to get rid of anything grey as i think it just looks boring!

il probably change the carpets next then move onto the dash rails etc... hopefully get a decent black & white theme going

i like it a lot how do those seats fit? is it just a case of attatching mini runners or frames to the seats

Well when i bought the seats... it came with the runners + frame.
The front end of it fits straight onto the mini brackets which i loved!

however the back end of the seats needed a little modifying. I will get a picture tomorrow of how i fixed it down and post it up.

Got an L-Bracket and bolted it through the floor, then just bolted them to the brackets on the seats. Its quite strong now its not going anywhere!

Also put a bit of grease sealant around the bolts on the outside so nothing gets through and starts eating away at the metal! Although i will be sorting out a more permanent sealant for it on the weekend

If it were me, I'd now have to change the dash rail pading, dash housing, steering wheel, & steering column housing from grey to black items, so that they match your new interior.

EDIT: the seat belt stalks too, as I just noticed that they are also grey as well!!

Bit low on the money as i recently bought some Revolutions

but the back seats im looking for a change!

yes i think i need to get rid of ANYTHING grey in that car now haha!

is it expensive to get black steering column housing and steering wheel?

I got some decent smooth grain vinyl from eBay!

It actually looks better than in the picture! I know its not real leather, but you cant tell so easily!

You can spray the door cards with flexible vinyl paint, £10 a can from halfrauds. It does look quite glossy but it's the cheapest way of making them look different.

I sprayed my steering column housing too, my dad had some matte black paint in the garage so we used that. Came out quite nice and cost nothing to do, although I do keep scratching it with the key trying to get it in the ignition.
