Im a little confused, where does the hard rev limit feature go to on the coil pack, I think i can see where it comes out of the plug on the ECU, just not sure where it goes onto the coilpack. Is it the middle plug?

And do you just use the tach out of the ECU and plug it into the rev counter, mine doesn't seem to be working.

What version is it? The hard limiter output is just a signal to control the actual limiter which connects to the middle terminal of the coil.

The tachometer pin also just gives a signal, it might not be powerful enough for older rev counters. There's also a tacho signal on the edis you could try, otherwise you'd have to rig up a couple of diodes to drive it off the coilpack. Unless it's a really old RVI type, which is different again.

Dragging this back up. It's megajolt/e, the latest one which there isn't any literature for on the site. Which is extremely annoying.

Looking at the installation guide, it looks to me that the coil +12v that used to come from my fusebox and working fine, will now come from my megajolt unit unit.

So looking at this diagram. Posted Image

The top left pin (coil power) and the pin 2 spaces over to the right (rev limit) will both go to the centre pin of the coilpack, and the 12v I was using for the coilpack before will not be used?

Am I right?

Thanks
Ben

V4 is designed to let you fit the rev limiter internally, but it is on a separate circuit board, sold as an add on. If you have it, there's an internal connection for the rev limiter signal on the MJ & the limiter, and a connection to put the output on the marked pin.

The software rev limiter works very well and doesn't need any extra connections (it just massively retards the ignition timing). The hard limiter is only really of any use if you miss a gear on a very revvy engine (not most A Series then =]| ).

Personally, I intend to get round to building an external hard limiter, so I can trigger it with other stuff: such as an immobiliser.

I know what it does, I know where it goes.

The problem being the fact I have a megajolt/e and the rev limiter board.

The MJLJ V4 is what the instructions are for on the autosport labs, not the latest release of the megajolt/e.

I've asked on the autosportlabs website but there is nobody replying. Im pretty sure I'v soldered the megajolt rev limiter board in correctly, I just want to know how it's hooked up to the coilpack.
