This is probably a stupid question but......
When working on my car I am partial to a bit of music to drown out my vocalised errors and was wondering, is there any way I can have my car speakers playing without the engine running and the battery not going flat?
My ICE isn't epic but its not exactly standard with a couple of amps, sub and 6 other speakers. Would just connecting a battery charger while in use sort it or would I end up damaging the battery? Getting bored of CO in confined spaces!
Thanks

Suppose you could rig the system to run from mains using transformers etc like with camping equipment. Or fit almost a leisure battery, but personally Id just get a cheap hi-fi system off ebay with a couple of speakers or something simular.
Remember when working with the mini you dont always want the battery in, also you may need to remove speakers etc to get to bits. A standard battery charger also may not be quick enough to charge.

as said above, most 'heavy duty' chargers only go up to 20A (unless you go into the mechanics starter type) which is only 20A x 14v = 280W, that will just about keep your system charged as long as you don't play it loud. For the price of a decent 20A charger you could buy a cheapy iPod amp or 'Ghettoblaster' for the garage.
The little chargers rated 4-5A won't do the job either, some will even pass out while when you pull more current.
