Have spend most of the day driving all around the midlands getting quotes for having the new sills and door step reapair. First was jonspeed in nuneaton, then tried oldskool minis and fianly took a drive over to the premier mini company on shiftys reccomendation.
The first quote didnt fill me with confedance.. the words, patch and oversill were banded about
The second quote was astronomical but im sure the quality of job would be good and they did the quote for "worst case senario" to be fair.
The third quote aka SHIFTYS quote!!! after a long drive there and getting lost down some fantastic mini driving lanes (iv never enjoyed being lost so much with the roads that were around there) was spot on. really nice fella, and fair price. when i mentioned that shifty had recomended... lee from the premier mini co had a rye smile and said "he a good lad aint he" (is there a story to be told??) Cant have the work done untill middle april at least so the minis off the road but at least i trust the chap and im sure it will look the nuts! Im gonna need a trailer to take the mini down on in april if anyone can help?!!
but in the meantime... iv got a rusty old calibra 2.0 8v to run about in (possible conversion fodder!! lol)
