Hi all,
Im looking to fit an stage 3 engine kit to my SPi, and i was looking at fitting a new camshaft with it, I just have a few questions
1. Which camshaft to use for some extra torque? I was told a kent cam 276 was good?
2. When fitting the camshaft do i need to fit anything else in order to get the most from it?
thanks in advance

Im no expert but iv always been under the impression that when fitting a new cam shaft you should ensure your valve springs match the cam shaft, replace the cam followers and bearings.

I just did a Swiftune SW5 cam in my SPI. Went with the cam, bearing, followers, dual springs, and adjustable timing gears. Wonderful kit. I have only started the car so far so no word on the power. It fired right up and sounded great though.

Im not sure that the 276 will be suitable in a SPi, the best road going cam is the sw5-07 it gives you good low down "pull away" power, suitable for town driving and keeps on the power to about 6000-ish-rpm i believe, also there is the kent 274sp which is supposed to be very good for getting more power just depends what your needs are.
but as said before you should replace followers and get double valve springs to match.
have a look here too if your interested in tuning your SPi http://www.theminifo...showtopic=79995
