so im after a HIF44 carb with manual choke.

im looking on ebay and finding alot of HS4 carbs and they look identical to the HIF44

if any one in the greater manchester area and surroundings has a the SU carb i need i would be willing to buy 1 for beer tokens

the HS4 is tha same size as a HIF38...both are 1" 1/2 carbs. the difference between em is that the HIF has the float bowl built into the bottom of it rather than on the side like a HS.

If you are after a HIF44 you could also use a HS6 both are 1" 3/4 with manual chokes, but the HIF is a lot better IMO.

ahh i see what u mean this is why i was confused as he calls it an hs4 but according to what u just said it must be a hif44 as the float chamber is on the bottom

the hif6 is a 2.00" as ive got about 4 of those off rover v8s tried 1 already

No, no no no no.

The HIF 6 is the same as the HIF 44. The same carb, except the 6 is milled out using an imperial sized cutter of 1 3/4" and the 44 is done using a metric cutter of 44mm, which are very similar sizes. Imperial sized SU carbs are marked up in 1/8s of an inch over 1". So a 6 is 1 and 6/8 of an inch, which is 1 3/4".

HS 6 carbs are the same size, as they are also 1 and 6/8".

HS 8 carbs are 1 and 8/8", or 2" in English.

I don't believe there actually is a 2" HIF carb.
