Hi Guys,

Went for a cruise this afternoon and the car was running fine for about an hour then as I drove up a fairly steep hill it started to die and then would rev back up again.
It occasionally fires and pops when bunny hopping and the ignition light in the dash flickers on and off like crazy. I'm fairly certain its no a fuel issue but I'm not eliminating it entirely.
The car idles fine and revs up and down nicely when sitting but under a load craps out. Finally I started it it ran for a couple of seconds and then died and I had absolutely no power, no lights, nothing.

I'm thinking its a starter relay problem but help would be much appreciated. The car hasn't even been road legal a day and its on the fritz

Cheers

it wouldn't be the starter solenoid it's self as that only work when you start the car but the main battery lead does join onto all the other wires at this point so it could be something loose in this area

also worth checking the main battery and engine earth

a faulty coil can also cause problems under load

Cool thanks a lot. I'll try a new coil and clean up the terminals on the solenoid and see how that goes
