Hi, Ive recently bought a 1293 A series engine based on a 1275gt block. Its got a 649 cam and is all lightened and balalnced. Ive only got one breather running from the flywheel housing. I know early 1275gts ran only one breather. Would I benefit in running a 2nd? Ive got a rocker cover with the breather pipe which I could use.
Also im a little confused over the breather connections to twin su carbs. I recently bought a set of twin HS4 Carbs. There is only a breather attatchment on one of the carb bodies. Do you just connect up the breather pipes to the one carb, does this affect the balancing of them.
Thanks

Having a breather connected to one carb shouldn't have an effect on balancing, as the crank case SHOULD be sealed. This means that no extra air should get in and upset the mixture.
Breathers are only connected to the carbs to utilise the vacuum that carbs create to 'suck' oil fumes out of the crank case.

That makes sense thanks. Anyone have ideas on the breather issues. Ive seen lots of conflicting opinions on this matter
thanks
