Although not stricly legal, has anyone ever tried stretching 165 55 13 tyres onto 7JJ superlites or have used them, have you had clearance issues?
I like the stretched look, Seen it done on you tude and although not stricly legal as I said it looks good fun anyway, LOL

Had 165 50 15 on a 7j on a daily use on a lupo, had no problems i kno its not a mini, but doesnt look that bad. known people on 8j with the same tyre and no problems :techsupport:

So the 165 55 13 shouldnt be that much of a stretch, i kno that people on here will say its dangerous and stuff but yeh my opinion :techsupport:

was that a question for me? well the lupo was fully insured with everything declared, same as most of the vdubs with stretched tyres and other body mods :techsupport:

165mm is just about 6.5 inches, but remember your not stretching from the tread side, your stretching from the bead and with a smaller profile tyre the stretch is going to be alot more obvious.

Im going to be stretching a 165 onto a 6.5 inch rim (the bead widths being narrower by, at a guess an inch or so) but with a 70 profile tyre on my 10 inch rims, its not going to be as effected

you told them your running wheels wider that the tyre manufactures specifications or just told them you had alloys ?

The question was not whether you told them you had wider wheels, but whether you told them the tyres were not fitted in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. The recommended max wheel width for a 165 section tyre is 6" with 4.5" to 5.5" being stated as the best width.

Dont do it, the tyre cannot work as it should and it makes the bead unstable - its dangerous and looks ******* too
