Track Day Mini Exhaust

This got me thinking - I need to now replace the exhaust from the LCB back but it does not have to road legal. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what would be the best exhaust to give me the optimum performance - noise not too much of an issue as long as it doesn't perforate my eardrums!
It's currently a 1275 with stage 3 head, HIF carb, 1.5 roller rockers and it had the Minisport stage 1 kit exhaust fitted.

What size diameter is your straight through and where did you get it from?

Check Minispares for them and read the article at the bottom of the page where some RR testing was done with varios different exhausts on the same car on the same day on the same rollers. Loud is not always the best way to go either

Id have to disagree, Maniflow, wouldnt EVER use anything else. Imo they are quite simply the best, and last more than 6 months... which is more than can be said for an RC40As always, RC40. Once tried, you will never go back, there is nothing to better it. Once you got one there is no where else to go with exhausts.

My current exhaust was just the standard twin box and LCB that you get with the Minisport stage 1 kit - don't know the diameter. You are right though, as soon as it started blowing it started to rev a lot happier and the difference in top-end power was phenomenal.going round a track is a little different from driving on the road. The decrease in back pressure will gain you power at top end... which is great for a track but on the other hand will loose you power at lower revs making it more difficult to drive in road contitions. What diameter and how many box's is your current system?
Thanks for all your advice, but excuse my ignorance, what is the difference between the RC40 and RC50 exhausts and which maniflow exhaust are some of you recommending?
The car is purely used for the track and does not need to pass an MOT therefore noise and emissions are not factors I have to consider.

RC40 and RC50
the RC40 is a mild steel exhaust and RC50 a stainless steel :smartass:
my RC 40 exhaust lasted 6 years
and i now have a RC50 that has now been on for 4 years
