Im not sure how good it would look, but it would certainly be different, and different always looks good.

Get some big wheels, and some hi-lo's and set it all as high as you can, then cut the arches to get it all to fit :-

I'm potentially thinking 10s with big tyres... mainly because I've already got 10s on it and when I had my landy wheel size didn't seem to matter, it was overall diameter.

What do people think the suspension set-ups might be? Coil-overs? Hi-los? or something more drastic?

the only lifted minis I've ever seen weren't really minis at all: suzuki santana chassis, much bigger engine etc etc, but they look something like this:

Yeah, I don't like the look of cars on 4x4 chassis... they always look really "bodged" in mu mind :-

hahah, yep, this one is so far beyond the "bodged" point.. but i honestly don't think the mini subframes could handle the distortion that results from offroading.. might have to build a proper space frame for it, with an altered shock system..

a guy in redditch mini club has a mini on a suzukia sj chassis, i think he uses it for greenlaning and stuff too. not my cup of tea, but interesting

there are pics of it on the net somewhere? at the pride of longbridge show is one possibility?

You can get Minis pretty hight on 10"s or 13"s with knobbly tyres but I would have thought a shortened Panda chassis grafted onto a Mini shell would be ideal.

Im pretty sure there was some sort of lifted Mini at Gaydon. May not be there anymore though. It was like a Domino Pimlico with jacked up suspension and knobbly tires. With a spare mounted on the tailgate.

maybe fit spacers between the subframe and the body to lift the body

You beat me to it Bungle.

I closed down my business last year and one of our specialty products was a lifted golf buggy. with that in mind i have already thought about doing a mild lift on a Mini and my thoughts were to space off the subframes and extend the steering shaft down to the rack. the only other issue would be to extend the handbrake, brake pipes and re hang or reshape the exhaust.

By far the easiest/cheapest option and still retain the orignal look, unlike the Suzi convertions.

Otherwise i would use hi lows on max height and cut and tub arches to get the look of lifted but without raising the C of G too much.
