I was wondering about putiing bonnet pins on my rover mini on the front and take the bonnet latch off as its all rusted and needs taking off
is it an easy job and do people recomend it? its not like its going to make it any safer or easier to get in :L

any pics of peoples bonnets with pins on?

thinking about wrapping my car in some cool vinals, maybe the 2fast 2furious skyline at the beggining. mmmm lol :)

Not a fan of styling vinyls that tuner's can get away with, classics should be classics not look like a japanese toy in my eyes! roof vinyls look good though, talk to roofless on here, i am sure he can sort you out with any vinyls you like :)

My bonnet pins should hopefully be fitted by the end of this week or next once everything else is done so i will get some pictures up when they are done, i personally like the bonnet pins for a replacement to the latch as my latch does my head in :-

I find the novelty of bonnet pins wears off, I'm only using them because I have a fg front end and they weigh peanuts, on my '71 Maverick Grabber I am also restoring there's no way on earth I'm using pins- IMO they have the most beautiful bonnet on a production car ever and I'm not spoiling that view!!!

Heres a sneaky pic :-

i also think the novalty wears off, i will be using them as i have a CF front but on a steel frontend i would really recomend sticking with the latch mechanism. thats from actuall personal experience not just an opinion

that was why im not too sure in getting them :/ im sure if you take your car on track days n that its great but its not nessesary :L
at college we hav a sax max race spec car and where they've cut out the holes look a bit bodged so you have to be carefull with it, saying that everything ive done to mine looks a bit bodged  (its not by the way )

makes it more personal to me though :P
might lay off them then, i need a new bonnet so might get a fibreglass one? have to paint it nordic blue which i cant find anywhere ;)

Woah where can you get one of those bonnets ;) mm that is nice lol

Aerocatch do very good ones ive fitted them on my sapphire cosworth but not cheap around £50 and you can get locking ones.

With all do respect although they may be good it's still the same theory as adding pins, stiff have to faff around and I think the aerocatch are bigger? Which means more plate to put on. Standard catch all the way if it's a road steel nosed mini >_<
