Hi, as the title says I am after some pictures of sunroofs, mainly the pop out glass type as I have just aquired one so just want to see what it will look like!
I have searched google and through the forum but can't seem to find many pictures that show the sunroof clearly so if anybody has got any piccys and could share them here I would be very grateful
Thanks in advance

From reading through some of the other threads on here it looks like people use whatever they can get their hands on! I think you can get roofs made for Minis though.
And thanks yousmeg

Rover fitted either the Britax or the Tudor Webasto tilt/ pop up versions, both of which are available from Somerford Mini Centre as are the spare parts for both.

As for fitting one to an existing solid roof (as opposed to fitting a replacement), then I'd really advise against it, in the same way that I wouldn't advise anyone to buy a mini with sun roof fitted either (both factory fitted items & aftermarket versions). Put simply they leak!! Maybe not at first, but it's only a matter of time until the seal starts to wear and you find yourself driving around with wet seats and carpets, praying that it won't rain again. I've had replacement seals and the assembly adjusted & tightened by a Tudor Webasto sunroof dealer as well and it still leaks! so much so, that I'm now considering welding on a new roof panel and fitting a new headlining in order to get rid of the godforsaken thing!

Other people will no doubt tell you that they have a sunroof fitted and that it's fine and it doesn't give them any problems...... & all I ever say in response to that is "& that's exactly what I used to say!!" =]

Heres mine!!! ( The :bah:  Thing!!!)

If you are going to do it, then I certainly wouldn't fit a used item. If you do then at the very least fit a new seal to it, as a used seal that has been disturbed in the removal and refitting to another car is bound to fail, also consider using new replacement hinges too, as they have a tendency to corrode & bend slightly over the years causing the yet more leaks!!

Couldnt agree more with AVV IT.

Ive got the webasto fitted on mine, it was done when i bought it, and im putting a carbon roof on it now, with one of the main reasons being to get rid of the leaky sunroof.

From what i hear there isnt a single on that wont leak in heavy rain, there's about a 15mm gab at the back center of mine when its supposedly closed. Apparently there was never a sunroof made to fit the profile of the mini roof, apart from the full length ones?

So yer, far more trouble than there worth.

Mine didn't even leak with all the snow we had melting off my roof, so maybe I got a good one? =] Fingers crossed...

Thanks guys, they look great! Im going to do a trial run on a piece of sheet metal before I take the plunge and will check it (hopefully!) for water tightness.
And like AVV IT said Im gonna change seals and now you mention it probably hinges too!!
Thanks for your advice and pics! :proud:
